Sculpting for Two Souls: The Living Philosophy of Nerse Batsashi

Born in 1947 into an ancient Laz family in Colchis, Nerse Batsashi's artistic spirit was forged in the fires of survival. At just two years old, his life was completely uprooted when his family was unjustly exiled to the frozen wilderness of Siberia. To endure the bitter, unforgiving winters, a young Nerse began carving his very first sculptures out of rough pieces of firewood.

Today, Nerse legally lives under the birth certificate of his infant brother who tragically froze to death during that exile, carrying this sacred relic in his chest pocket as a lifelong vow to create for two souls. As a visionary monumental sculptor and profound philosopher, his timeless bronze masterpieces transcend ordinary history.

Each creation serves as a powerful monument to human brotherhood, capturing the raw, beautiful resilience of the human spirit against all odds.
